As season 8 of The Walking Dead comes to a close, so does All Out War… rather quickly, all things considered, and with less bloodshed than expected.

There’s turmoil at the Sanctuary when a few familiar faces make their reappearance, Daryl and Rosita try to take out one of their resources, and Negan finally hears Carl’s letter… but it may be too late.

Jadis tries to hit Negan where it hurts, Carol goes out in search of Henry, and Rick and Morgan team up to hunt down the escaped Saviors.

Did you love the flu subplot from season four? Remember when Glenn almost died of that? Then boy, do we have a familiar feeling episode for you — this time with more biological warfare!

Maggie may have found a surprising new ally, Rick continues to pursue his revenge against Negan, and Simon sees an opportunity to shake up the Saviors.

In “Dead or Alive Or,” the surviving Alexandrians head for the Hilltop while tensions with Dwight rise, Gabriel tries to teach Doctor Carson to have faith, and Negan finds a new job for Eugene.

Allies are few and far between on this episode of The Walking Dead. Rick can’t seem to bring himself to follow Carl’s last wishes and Negan is genuinely upset to hear about his passing.

It’s time to say goodbye to one of the characters who has been there since the beginning and, at the same time, a hello to crazy “Clear” Morgan once more. There has to be something better…

We jump through some sloppy hoops to get there, but the midseason finale does indeed end on a shocking note – if only because of what it means for the continuation of the series.

It’s definitely the episode before the midseason finale. Eugene talks a lot and probably won’t ever be forgiven by Rick’s group at this rate.
