‘Will You Play With Me?’ failed to deliver the same humor, action, and intrigue offered by its predecessors. Were plot points wrapped up? Yes. Did I enjoy watching the process? No. Will I tune in next season for more? Of course. I may be unimpressed, but I still needs ma’ fix!

Julia has surpassed the ranks of hedge witch, Brakebills magician or even Brakebills Dean. If anything, ‘The Fillorian Candidate’ is Julia’s time to shine and she does so with flair. Although, nothing is more satisfying than watching Julia exert her newfound godly power over a weaker Reynard.

The Magicians takes us back to the 23rd timeline, where things have gone post-apocalyptic. The beast is still alive, only this isn’t the same beast we all love to hate. Julia and Josh band together with a few faces from the past to pry the seventh key from his cold, dead fingers.

The Magicians Season 3 Episode 10 draws some potent similarities between the history of slavery in our world and the McAllisters’ enslaved fairies. Even “fairy hating” Fen can’t stand by and witness this horror without taking a stand. Time for the Fairy Queen and Fen to make up.

For ‘Six Short Stories About Magic,’ they decided to go down the ambitious route and it paid off well. Six different stories, one told in a radically different manner, each providing a distinctive piece that adds to the complete story of the episode.

Burned bridges are rebuilt as Quentin and Polly search for a way to the underworld with Penny’s help. Julia and Alice find themselves at odds with one another after their magic transplant has more disastrous effects than they expected.

The key quest takes Quentin on a solo sea voyage, where he meets a friend of a friend. Julia and Alice fervently pursue a method to transfer Julia’s magic to Alice that won’t end in their death.

One of the most emotional episodes to date, handled in such a beautifully subtle fashion, The Magicians “A Life in the Day” takes a break from the action to focus on the feels. But make no mistake, you won’t be bored. You’ll just need a box of tissue handy.
