Newly single, newly emancipated; Harley Quinn is back in our lives and we’re loving it! Set after Harley has freed herself broken up with Joker, Birds Of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn finds our favorite psychologist-turned-antihero back in Gotham with a new crew of friends.
The new trailer shows Harley (Margot Robbie) alongside Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez), and a young Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco). Also in the trailer is Ewan McGregor, who will play the villainous Black Mask, and Chris Messina as the serial killer Victor Zsasz.
While Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was undoubtedly the star of Suicide Squad, we’re equally excited for the blockbuster debut of director Cathy Yan. She will be the first Asian woman to direct a DC film or any U.S. superhero film, and that makes us incredibly excited for the upcoming entry into the DCEU.
Some might call me foolish for constantly hoping that DC will blow me away with one of their movies like they did with Wonder Woman, but in two minutes, I’m officially a passenger on the hype train for Birds of Prey.
BIRDS OF PREY releases in theaters February 7, 2020.
