Everyone’s favorite radioactive Kaiju has roared into San Diego Comic Con this weekend. Godzilla is celebrating 65 years of the title and is now officially old enough to collect social security. TOHO is celebrating in style at booth #3535 all weekend with anything and everything Godzilla.
It is hard not to be a fan of Godzilla. He is a timeless icon, simple and at times destructive. For fans of any iteration of Godzilla there’s something for everyone at the booth this year. From a 65 year retrospective with props from the films to a Godzilla photo-op, attendees can connect with the franchise and help it celebrate a milestone birthday.
The Godzilla booth also boasts a limited San Diego Comic Con exclusive toy. Based on the first vinyl figure from 65 years ago, fans will have a chance to purchase a new Godzilla vinyl figure. These are available at the booth for limited quantities each day, so show up early if you want one.
This is a particularly momentous occasion as Godzilla has ignored San Diego Comic Con for the most part. Fans were limited to what exhibitors had to offer. It is therefore a little bit wonderful that, while celebrating their 65th birthday and Comic Con’s 50th, Godzilla has made an appearance at last.
There are only two days left at the con so be sure to make some time Saturday and Sunday to check out TOHO’s Godzilla booth. You won’t want to miss your chance at a green screen opportunity with Godzilla himself. There’s also a chance to see the beautiful mural by Shinji Nishikawa.
So stomp on over to booth #3535 and check it out. You can also stay up to date all weekend by following Godzilla on Twitter for news and giveaways.
