Con season continues to go strong this month as we ease into WonderCon weekend in Anaheim. Although it’s a shorter weekend than it’s sister convention San Diego Comic-Con, this is the convention to go to for a sneak peek at the upcoming media before the summer kicks off. The biggest news in comics is comiXology’s exclusive digital content program: comiXology Originals. Now you can join comiXology’s head of content Chip Mosher, writer Jim Zub and artist Max Dunbar to get the scoop on an all-new, recently announced, comiXology Originals series, Stone Star (available now!) direct from the creators making it! They’ll wow the crowd with stories on the process of bringing creator-owned comics to life and what it’s like pushing the envelope with digital comics and beyond. Representation matters, as reflected from the countless positive reactions from those who see themselves depicted on screen. From Buzzfeed and Nerdist to Hyper RPG, hosts grow in number from LGBTQIA and minority backgrounds across various outlets. They bring fresh perspectives and open our minds to new point of views. Aspiring hosts can divulge in the wisdom of those who have worked smart and hard to carve out a career in hosting. Jessica Tseang (comic book historian, AMC’s Secret History of Comics), Chris Lam (Buzzfeed personality, writer/host for GammaRay TV), Dani Fernandez (host for Nerdist, writer for Comedy Central), Markeia McCarty (host of DC Daily on DC Universe, Fangirling at Nerdist), Malik Forté (esports host, Crewham founder), and Arisce Wanzer(supermodel, host for LA Pride/Grindr’s What the Flip) will give their success stories and tips to breaking into the industry. Actor Nicholas Hoult, director Dome Karukoski, and additional cast including Anthony Boyle, Patrick Gibson, and Tom Glynne-Carney will present a sneak peek of Tolkien, the first film to take an in-depth look at the early life of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the legendary novel The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series. Like his books, it’s a story about courage, adventure, love, and the deep unbreakable bond of lifelong friendship. FX’s Legion Screening and Q&A

Legion, based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, tells the story of David Haller, a man who believed himself schizophrenic only to discover that he may actually be the most powerful mutant the world has ever seen. The executive producers Noah Hawley, John Cameron, Lauren Shuler Donner, and Jeph Loeb, along with cast members Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Aubrey Plaza, Navid Negahban, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, and Lauren Tsai will host a conversation about what fans can look forward to in the upcoming third season, premiering on FX later this year.

Come see an exclusive screening of AMC’s highly-anticipated new supernatural horror series, NOS4A2. Based on the 2013 novel by Joe Hill, NOS4A2, introduces Vic McQueen, a gifted young woman who discovers she has a supernatural ability to find lost things. This ability puts her on a collision course with the evil and immortal Charlie Manx. Manx is a supernatural villain who feeds off the souls of children then deposits what remains of them into Christmasland-a twisted place of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. Vic strives to defeat Manx and rescue his victims, without losing her mind or falling victim to him herself. Deadly Class

Executive produced by the Russo Brothers (Avengers: Endgame) and based on the hit graphic novel by Rick Remender and Wes Craig, SYFY’s breakout new series, Deadly Class, follows the story of Marcus, a teen living on the streets who is recruited into King’s Dominion, an elite private academy where the world’s top crime families send their next generations.
