Alright, alright alright, let’s get this outta the way. It’s just a re-release of Terminator 2 Judgment Day. One of the definitive movies (action or otherwise!) of all time. So, how does this 3D version of it hold up? Let’s get into it.
I am not a fan of 3D conversions. Hell, even movies that are made from the get-go for 3D aren’t guaranteed to work. The number of movies that do them well is few and far between.
And, so, this whole thing, this 3D re-release. Well, honestly, it doesn’t do much. The 3D effects never really immerse, they also never really break it either. You know, the whole, ‘I’m poking you in the eyyyye!’ type thing. None of that happens in this one, which is a good thing. But so then what’s the point in seeing it?
Well, have you seen it in theaters? Because Terminator 2 is a damn fine movie and definitely worth seeing in theaters. From the intro music, the first future battle, all the way to the beautiful (yeah I said beautiful!) conclusion Judgment Day is an astoundingly compelling and heartfelt action flick.
If you haven’t seen it in theaters, then you owe it to yourself to do so. If you have, and you are interested just in the 3D, well I can tell you that you’ll be a little disappointed. It isn’t anything special in that way.
