Who says Sunday at SDCC can’t be just as fun as the rest of the weekend? While things certainly seem to slow down a bit it’s a great day to spend some last few hours wandering the exhibit hall. Plus off-sites and booths can be pretty liberal with handing out the leftover swag they don’t want to bother packing up to take with them.
But there are still some pretty great panels, too.
Big time fan favorites Supernatural and Doctor Who will ensure there’s still a big line overnight for Hall H. And there are a bunch of other fun panels to check out throughout the convention center. Here’s the full scheduled for Sunday. And check out our top picks below for making the most of your last day at SDCC!
Friendship to the Max with Lumberjanes
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM @ Room 25ABC
I am in love with the Lumberjanes and we’ve been covering the series from the very beginning. With a new middle grade novel series in the works, now is the perfect time to jump on board with the Jo, Mal, Molly, April, and Ridley. They have some of the best adventures – and Shannon Watters, Brooke Allen, and Mariko Tamaki will be on hand to talk all about them!
Princess Leia Star Wars Fan Club Tribute Presentation
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM @ Room 6DE
Hosted by a handful of Star Wars fan groups, this special tribute to Carrie Fisher promises to be an emotional celebration of the late actress’s life. Fans and panelists will be discussing the impact she had on their lives and their memories of the late actress who touched lives everywhere with her iconic portrayal of Princess Leia.
Marvel’s Spider-Man World Premiere
10:15 AM – 11:15 AM @ Room 6A
No, it’s not the world premiere of that Spider-Man. This is the premiere of the latest Disney XD animated Spider-Man series, Marvel’s Spider-Man. Attendees will be treated to the first two episodes of the new series. If you’ve got some free time – check it out! While Disney XD may be a kid-centric channel their Marvel (and Star Wars) shows are entertaining for fans of all ages.
Supernatural
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM @ Hall H
Who ever said Sunday in Hall H is boring? Supernatural is back — and inevitably the long lines of fans camping out over night will be as well! Fans aren’t going to want to miss this one. With any luck, we may not just be learning more about the upcoming season of Supernatural but the spin-off, Wayward Sisters, too!
Women of Marvel
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM @ Room 6DE
Celebrate the women of Marvel on Sunday with this enlightening panel. We’re not just talking about the characters here either. We’re talking about the actual women working behind the scenes at Marvel. Expect some great discussions on women in the comic book industry and the increased focus on including women not just in the comic book pages and panels but in the industry as well.
Stephen King’s Mr. Mercedes
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM @ Room 8
I’m still not sure why AT&T Audience Network is the home to Stephen King’s latest television adaptation but who am I to question these things? No matter who is broadcasting it, Mr. Mercedes – based on the bestselling Stephen King trilogy beginning with a novel of the same name – looks like a pretty entertaining series with an impressive group of showrunners behind it. Come check in with the folks behind the series and learn more about Mr. Mercedes!
Image Comics: Your New Favorite Series
1:45 PM – 2:45 PM @ Room 5AB
It’s no secret that we love Image Comics series and we bet you do, too! Or, rather, we bet you will after this panel. Highlighting some new series that either have just started or are starting up soon, the panel features a handful of creators who will be on hand to talk about their new books and potentially recommend some new ones. If you weren’t able to check out any other Images panels, this one on Sunday might be a great way to wrap things up and get a few new comic recommendations before your post-SDCC start your journey home.
Doctor Who
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ Hall H
After Supernatural and another panel or two, the BBC is taking over Hall H! Peter Capaldi is going to be in San Diego for his last SDCC as the Doctor and they’re bringing some footage of the upcoming Christmas special, too, apparently. I can’t promise that we’ll learn much about Jodie Whittaker’s Thirteenth Doctor but I’m sure it’ll be a huge topic of discussion. And it should be a great time nonetheless as everyone says goodbye to Peter Capaldi! Come an hour early and check out the Dirk Gently panel, too!
Comic-Con Talk Back
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM @ Room 23ABC
Want to let the powers that be what you thought about your SDCC experience? The annual ‘Talk Back’ panel is your chance to make suggestions and just give general feedback. It may not take the whole hour but it’ll be your chance to get some face time with the president of the board of directors. If you have any questions or suggestions – this is your chance!
DC Kids: Sunday Art School
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM @ Room 2
One of the most adorable and awesome events of the weekend, the Sunday Art School sees artists from the DC Super Friends, Super Hero Girls, and other kid-centric titles coming together to talk to the kids about art. Expect a lot of kid-friendly tips and maybe some basic tutorials. Either way, it should be a lot of fun for the kids and their parents who get to attend. Plus it’ll be a nice, fun way to end what was undoubtedly a busy weekend for the kids and their folks!
