Do you love zombies? Of course you do. Who doesn’t? They eat brains, stumble around, and groan a lot. What’s there not to love? If you really want to show your love for the undead, you’ll want to check out the latest Kickstarter project from Microcosm Publishing. They’re working on producing the third anthology for their Bikes in Space series, and there’s not much more time left to support this campaign! They’re so close to raising the six thousand dollars they need to create this wonderful anthology, and you could be a part of it.
Pedal Zombies looks to bring together thirteen short stories that “give a feminist take on the zombie apocalypse.” Zombie rights, a zombie war, and memos regarding the struggle of a humble bicycle business in the midst of chaos will all play a part in this rich anthology. Each story promises to take a new and different look at a post-apocalyptic world and shed a little light on how women might face the oncoming zombie apocalypse.
As for the story behind the book, the fictional universe it takes place in is seen through the eyes of a member of the Zombie-Living Alliance. The idea is that in the midst of the apocalyptic chaos that no doubt came with a zombie uprising, life continues to move forward in the silliest of ways. There’s still internal office memos, struggles with civil rights for the recently undead, and interpersonal conflicts. Life is still strangely similar to its pre-zombie form, and Pedal Zombies looks to explore this idea thoroughly.
This project is slated to be the third successfully funded Kickstarter anthology that Microcosm Publishing has put their mind to. That’s an impressive track record, and one you’ll no doubt want to be a part of. Probably one of the coolest things about this project is the fact that all of the anthologies will be printed here in the United States, Mattoon Illinois to be precise. There’s just something beautiful about small time publishers pairing up with small time business to produce something amazing.
So what are you waiting for, folks? With less than two days left on the clock, and just under five hundred dollars to go, there’s no reason not to jump in on this project and snag yourself some cool rewards.
Is this the best you can do? this talking head nonsense? give me a break, little girls like you wouldn’t last a week in a zombie apocalypse.
