One of my most anticipated new TV series is easily MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles. While science fiction series and comic book adaptations have been flooding our television screens fantasy hasn’t really caught on just yet (with the obvious exception of Game of Thrones, of course). The Shannara Chronciles, however, might just change that.
I mean, it looks incredible. The production value of this series alone sets a standard that future shows might struggle to meet.
It also has an awesome cast.
We had a chance to sit down with some of the showrunners and actors involved with the series. Also on hand, was author Terry Brooks who wrote the original book The Elfstones of Shannara on which the show is based, along with decades worth of other books set in the same world. Let me tell you one thing before you watch the videos – there are few things as awesome as sitting down with one of the fathers of modern fantasy. It’s equally great to hear that he’s put his seal of approval on the whole adaptation.
