It’s that time of year again! With next year’s television series announcements rolling in, most of the major cable networks have released their slate for the upcoming fall season.
The official CW lineup for Fall 2016 will be announced May 14th, but in the meantime, here’s what we know so far about the series for the next year.
Fan favorite The Flash has been performing extremely well, so it’s no surprise that this DC hero’s getting another full season order. In other DC news, Arrow fans will also be pleased that the green hero lives to see another season. I’m also excited that critically-acclaimed darling Jane the Virgin was officially renewed, along with other fan favorites Supernatural and The 100.
Unfortunately, some shows weren’t so lucky – newcomer The Messengers was officially cancelled, along with Hart of Dixie.
The network has also ordered pilots for some promising new shows – the network ordered a Flash/Arrow spinoff called Legends of Tomorrow, new series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, along with Cheerleader Death Squad (a series following a teacher who turns girls into international spies, I’m in if it gets picked up) and Cordon (from The Vampire Diaries writer Julie Plec, which follows survivors in the midst of an epidemic).
Confirmed Renewals:
The 100 (Season 3)
Arrow (Season 4)
Beauty and the Beast (Season 4)
The Flash (Season 2)
iZombie (Season 2)
Jane the Virgin (Season 2)
The Originals(Season 3)
Reign(Season 3)
Supernatural (Season 11)
The Vampire Diaries(Season 7)
Confirmed Cancellations:
Hart of Dixie
The Messengers
