Do you think you have what it takes to be the King of the Nerds?
If you do, we have a show you might just be interested in. King of the Nerds is a reality show that will be entering its third season. The premise is this: bring eleven nerds together in a big-brother style situation (where they are living together, eating together, and sharing life together) and have them compete in a variety of challenges to be named King of the Nerds. There is also a 100 thousand dollar prize for whoever manages to claim the infamous title.
It is hosted by Robert Carradine (Django Unchained) and Curtis Armstrong (Supernatural). As the ring leaders, they orchestrate the majority of the events that the competing nerds participate in. The eleven contestants are separated into two teams and subjected to a series of nerd wars, which are oftentimes regular contests with some sort of nerd spin on them.
For example, in season one, one of the first nerd wars was a cosplay competition. Not only did the contestants have to come up with a costume, but they had to create an entire world from which the costumed character came. A lot of the time guest judges will join the two hosts and help pick the winners from each nerd war. Guest judges in the past have included: George Takei (Star Trek), Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo (So You Think You Can Dance), Adam Busch (Men at Work), and even Bill Nye the science guy. These are just a small sampling of the amazing guest judges who come on the show week after week to help judge the nerdiness level of the contestants.
As the nerd wars are played out, the winning team becomes immune from elimination. Two players from the losing team are then forced to enter into a nerd-off, which is another round of competition. The winner gets to move on to the next episode while the loser gets sent home. In this way, King of the Nerds is a relatively typical elimination based reality show similar to shows like Survivor or Big Brother. The best part about this show, though, is the fact the participants get to let their nerd flags fly on national television as they compete to be crowned king.
Once the teams are reduced to five people total between them, the teams are eliminated and it becomes an individual competition where the remaining five all compete against each other for the prize. The winner not only gets to go down in history as the King of the Nerds, but also gets a hefty 100 thousand dollar prize to take home. That’s a lot of video games, costumes, and San Diego Comic Con visits, folks.

Really, you just need to be really passionate about something and be ready to talk about it and get excited about it on the show.

As anyone who’s had experience would’ve been able to tell me, it’s not going to be the same for
everybody. Automobile a challenging activity to move these individuals from one spot
to another and desires a lot of servicing too. Echoes of this relationship ripple even further as
the king must address his people to lead them into World War II.
