Fox is pulling the plug on Almost Human. The robot cop drama will not return for a second season.
As we draw closer to May we’re getting news about which shows will live on for another season and which will be axed, never to see the light of day again (a la Firefly). CBS already announced all of their keepers pretty early on, but FOX and NBC are still working on their lists of shows that will get to see another season. Almost Human was a science fiction robot cop drama starring Karl Urban (Star Trek) and Michael Ealy (Flashforward) that was not pulling in the appropriate ratings, according to TV By the Numbers, even with the slight bump in numbers the show experienced at the start of the year.
It will be interesting to see what other shows get the ax in the upcoming month as FOX and NBC make their final decisions.
We’ll be disappointed by the fact we won’t get to see Karl Urban’s handsome face on our TV screens every week.

I’m devastated. Literally heartsick. This was a my fav show, the one with the most promise and the most intriguing unanswered questions … and the best actors. I don’t understand how so much trash manages to survive and great, creative efforts like this are abandoned.
I have to agree with you. It is why I appreciate shows like Person Of Interest so much, because science fiction is so poorly represented on broadcast television. People want their procedural dramas and their sitcoms. There is nothing inherently wrong with that, but at the same time good shows that stray out of those genres just don’t do well on network television. It isn’t because they don’t have a loyal fanbase as much as it is I think it takes longer for people to engage with science fiction than it does something more “realistic” a la Law and Order or NCIS.
I just want to see Karl Urban’s face. That’s all I wanted. How could you take that from me, FOX?! How could you take so many things from me? Wasn’t Firefly enough? Wasn’t Dark Angel? Wasn’t Harsh Realm? You gave us Max Martini then and we never got him back until Pacific Rim!

That is gutting news, the first series doesn’t even start in the UK untill next week… Kind of taken the flavour out of it for me now.
Bummer! I would say still watch the season because it was still a decent show…but yeah, that is a shame knowing it won’t be renewed when the first season hasn’t even aired.
This is why I don’t get attached to shows on Fox. Actually, I hardly ever watch anything on the network because of how they cancel good shows. I’m still upset about their canceling Terra Nova. That show was on its way to be fantastic but will never reach it now. Seems the same with Almost Human. I fear what they’ll do with Gotham this Fall.
The show was pretty terrible in the first half of the season — and then they brought up earlier story lines making it less episodic, and then I started looking forward to the next episodes, and all I can say now is “argh.”
FOX is a cruel mistress.
