Sephora has released their newest makeup collection inspired by Divergent! The set includes makeup palettes and a nice looking nail polish set. Something you guys may not know, is that I am an intense makeup aficinado. I own over a hundred bottles of polish and had a small time stint as a makeup artist for a part of my life.

So, while perusing Sephora, I was delighted to see this Divergent Cosmetics collection. I was not about to buy the entire collection because I felt like I owned a lot of the colors already in the collections, but if you are looking for swatches and reviews for the large palette check out Temptalia’s swatches here (It does not include the polishes or the smaller palette though)!

Here is just a quick look at the new set from Sephora, as well as a quick overview of the products and prices. All descriptions are taken from the Sephora.com website!

7 Piece Nail Art Kit

$27.50 US

What it is:
A limited-edition nail kit inspired by the worldwide bestseller and major motion picture Divergent.

What it does:
Divergent—what makes you different makes you dangerous. Proudly proclaim your Divergent allegiance with this limited-edition, seven-piece nail art set. Create endless looks by layering the unique High-Gloss Transforming Nail Lacquer over any shade to create an opalescent, shimmering finish, and then add one of the exclusive, easy-to-use Nail Water-Transfer Tattoos. Just cut the paper to any shape or size desired, add water, hold onto nail, and peel back for flawless application.

This Set Contains:
– 0.285 oz High-Gloss Transforming Nail Lacquer
– 5 x 0.285 oz Long-Wear Nail Lacquers in Midnight Calm (dark navy), Violet Abnegation (violet gray), Opal Compassion (opalescent purple), True Pearl (golden opal), Neutral Lace (beige)
– 6 x Nail Water-Transfer Tattoos

Honestly, if you don’t own colors like the ones here, I’d say this is a good set of colors to own, especially with the Neurtal Lace, the Midnight Calm, and Violet Abnegation.

I think the water transfer tattoos are a little gimmicky and the High-Gloss top coat won’t compare to my Seche Vite (though realistically, nothing can), but I think around $30 for 6 polishes, coming to around $5 is not too bad, especially if you want a good neutral set.

Multi-Piece Collector’s Palette

$32.50 US

What it is:
A limited-edition, all-in-one face palette inspired by the worldwide bestseller, Divergent, now a major motion picture.

What it does:
Divergent—what makes you different makes you dangerous. Portable but impactful, this limited-edition palette contains everything you need to do your make up on the go.

This Set Contains:
– 3 x 0.059 oz. High-Pigment Eye Shadow in Candor Lace, Luminous Taupe, Envious Chocolate
– 0.19 oz. Long-Wear Blush
– 0.18 oz. Matte Bronzer
– 0.13 oz. High-Shine Lip Gloss in Artistic Mauve

Can I say, I love this package? I would get it just for this package and I still think I might. If I didn’t own so many neutral palettes, I would snatch this up instantly. I love the fact that the lip gloss fits in the case, I know it’s kind of unrelated to the pigmentation of the product but I enjoy having a case that will hold more of my things.

I also think the colors are pretty translatable to most skin http://www.montauk-monster.com/pharmacy/ultram types, and it’s a pretty neutral toned palette with basically everything you need to travel. Toss in a foundation and a masacara and you’re set!

spring2014_sephoradivergent001Multi-Piece Collector’s Kit

$59.50 US

What it is:
A limited-edition multipiece kit inspired by the traits of each Divergent faction from the worldwide bestseller, Divergent, now a major motion picture.

What it does:
Divergent—what makes you different makes you dangerous. This enormous multipiece kit allows you to be brave, selfless, intelligent, honest, and kind all at once. Each of the three eye shadow palettes contains four coordinating High Pigment Eye Shadows plus one High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadow to draw immediate attention to the eyes. The High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadows impart a shimmery, diamond-like reflection that is transparent when applied dry and translucent when applied wet. Mix and match the shades to achieve a unique look every time. The kit also includes a cheek palette with two Long-Wear Blushes, Shimmering Bronzer, and Radiant Glow Illuminator. Four High Shine Lip Glosses round out each faction’s look. Use the double-ended eye and cheek brush and the included Get-the-look cards to choose your faction and proclaim your loyalty.

This Set Contains:
– 12 x 0.059 oz High Pigment Eye Shadows in Burnt Mahogany, Radiant Initiation, Peaceful Shimmer, Humble Sheen, Dauntless Ink, Abnegation Stone, Erudite Sapphire, Serene Vanilla, Bold Espresso, Intrepid Moss, Golden Honesty, Altruistic Almond
– 3 x 0.059 oz High Gloss Transforming Eye Shadows in Choose, Diverge, Transform
– 2 x 0.11 oz. Long-Wear Blush in Obscure Coral, Misty Rose
– 0.11 oz. Shimmering Bronzer in Intelligent Bronze
– 0.11 oz. Radiant Glow Illuminator in Gleaming Pearl
– 4 x 0.13 oz. High-Shine Lip Glosses in Temptation’s Choice, Fear Not, Supreme Ritual, Natural Virtue
– Double-ended eye and cheek brush
– 3 x Get-the-Look cards

Sadly this seems to be sold out on the Sephora website, but last time I went to stores I saw some sets around, so maybe scope out your local store. I tried on some of the shadows in the palette and they are quite soft and powdery, though the glitters feel a little lacking for my taste.

Again, Temptalia has swatched and reviewed this entire kit and honestly for $60 you get four palettes, four glosses, and a brush? That’s a killing. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous on this one, coming in a beautiful box set.

I’d say if you were a parent and you had some teenaged girls who liked Divergent this would be a great set. Then you they could each get a palette for their own and a lip gloss.

That double sided brush also looks really nice, but I am always kind of cautious of double sided brushes just because they feel like they have twice the potential of getting germ ridden.

I love all three eyeshadow palettes, and the cheek palette looks to be a good investment (as all cheek palettes are). The box is kind of clunky, but I like to display those kinds of things, so I think it’s a nice addition. Plus it’s all collector’s edition!

These palettes and the polish pack are all exclusive to Sephora, so I would recommend you check it out if you like the look of these!
